Boy, Everywhere

Boy, Everywhere

by Dassu, A M

ISBN: 9781910646649

Boy, Everywhere chronicles the harrowing journey taken by Sami and his family from privilege to poverty, across countries and continents, from a comfortable life in Damascus, via a smuggler's den in Turkey, to a prison in Manchester. Once safe in the UK, Sami is bullied and decides he'd do just about anything to return to Damascus - including, possibly, becoming a stowaway. His is a story of survival, of family, of bravery...and of how thin the line is between "them" and "us".

Rubie - Rushcliffe Spencer Academy - 2022

THE BOOK WAS SO GOOD BUT EMOTIONAL.

Grace - Outwood Academy Kirkby - 2022

This was very good book. It really highlighted the struggle some people have to go through just to be and feel safe. I like how it makes you actually realise what is going on behind the scenes in our daily day-to-day life. Would definitely read again.

Alexander - Rushcliffe Spencer Academy - 2022

Didn't really enjoy it. A bit stop and start for me.

Amelia - Ashfield School - 2022

I really enjoyed this book and found going along with the family and their immigration an eye-opening experience to read! However the reason it isn’t a 5 star is the book did start to get boring.

Cerys - Ashfield School - 2022

I loved it! I found it quite easy to read, it covered the topic of refugees and their journey really well! Although I felt as if the plot/ending was predictable. I found myself guessing ahead and 7/10 times getting it correct. However it was definitely a good read! I would read it again!

Sophie - Rushcliffe Spencer Academy - 2022

This book was really good, and I really like the idea behind it. It really made me feel for the character and all the people in real life who endure similar situations. I felt like there was a lack of action to propel the story, though this did make it more relatable.

Amber - Outwood Academy Kirkby - 2022

A good book.

Lizzie - Nottingham Girls High School - 2022

This book is DEFINITELY worth a read! I loved going on the adventure with Sami and I really like the storyline of the whole book. My only negative point would be that the cover is bit boring, I would't have picked this book off the shelf, now having read it, I would have 100% picked it up!
