Anne - The Becket School - 2017
A very exciting fast paced adventure ,crime story.
Kate - Minster School - 2017
I really enjoyed this story. I liked the friendship between Jack and Ross. I also liked it because it is full of action and is really interesting. My favourite moment is when Jack dresses up as a girl!
Katie - Minster School - 2017
I liked the book, it was quite interesting - however I didn't enjoy it as much as other books written by this author. I thought it was good that the end was very unexpected, but I didn't really understand it - it was a bit confusing! In general it was good, but I didn't particularly like any of the characters - they weren't really relatable.
Alison - Minster School - 2017
I really enjoyed this book because it is full of drama and it is a real page turner. My favourite character is Ross because he is being blamed for everything when no one really knows his story :(
Ella - Minster School - 2017
I thoroughly enjoyed this book even though the ending was rushed. I loved the idea that Jack did not wish to go back to his parents and would prefer to go on the run with a Scottish armed bank robber who just accidentally kidnapped him whilst on holiday! My favourite part was that Ross was not a robber by choice and that he was actually committing so many crimes for an admirable reason. My most hated character was Jack's mother, because she seemed to care more about Jack's intelligence than finding her son. Personally, I adored the ending because it made me cry and I love books that make you passionate about them. However, the last two pages were a bit confusing but very revealing, and by the end I was a little bit annoyed that I actually cried for not reason. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves adventure, cocky characters or a heart-warming end, however the book does take a while to get into.
Cassidy - Minster School - 2017
I really liked this book, and I liked Jack, particularly how even though Ross is a thief he stays with him and helps him using his knowledge.
Jo - Minster School - 2017
Car-Jacked is full of excitement and fast paced. The storyline started very quickly with a lot of action soon after the beginning. Although there was no lengthy descriptive paragraphs, I could still picture everything going on because the description was integrated into the story.
Zhenguo - Minster School - 2017
My first impression of this book just by looking at the cover wasn't brilliant. I thought it looked a bit amateurish, but having read some of the books written by Ali Sparkes I knew she was a good author. I hoped therefore this book might be good and I was right! It contains the perfect blend of suspense and cliff hangers, leaving you hanging on thin air as you go through the many twists in the plot.
Ei - Minster School - 2017
My favourite part is the definitely the ending, but the very end is a bit unrealistic. Ross was the most likeable character and a genuinely nice person in need of help. I'd probably recommend this book to anybody who enjoys detective stories with a modern, light hearted twist. The main character Jack is a simple character (despite being extremely clever) who wants to make a difference to somebody else's life and escape from the monotonous life his Mum has given him.
