Griff and Dylan are returning from a holiday with their parents, about to cross into Manhattan. And then it happens. A trailer from the lorry in front smashes into their car. Dylan and Griff's parents are killed. The boys are suddenly orphans with nowhere to go until a kind aunt and uncle give them a new home in Wales. Now Dylan and Griff have everything they need - love, a happy home and future. But Dylan is worried about Griff: whether he is OK, whether he is copying with the terrible loss. He doesn't seem to speak about it or really acknowledge it. And Dylan has something else that he needs to come to terms with too.

Reviews

Grace - Kimberley School - 2019

I love this book. It is so mysterious and makes you hopeful. It makes you feel sorry for the boys in it.

Jessica - All Saints Catholic Voluntary Academy - 2019

This book was so touching, it made me cry tears of sadness and joy and feel all mixed up inside - its now one of my favourites! It was like an emotional rollercoaster, I really loved it.

Saanvi - Nottingham Girls High School - 2019

I loved this book as the main event (the car crash) suddenly happened after a normal conversation and a page-turn. It then showed Griff and Dylan's journey to get back to a regular life. The climax of the story was very descriptive and created the perfect mood.

Narisse - Nottingham Girls High School - 2019

This book was slow moving at first, but as the storyline developes we begin to watch the characters develop and we also learn more of their backstory. The ideas the author meant to give the reader were clearly put out.

Natasha - All Saints Catholic Voluntary Academy - 2019

I like the plot and how towards the end the massive plot twist that just comes out and how you feel emotion towards that

Oscar - Kimberley School - 2019

It was a heartbreaker with a great twist. The bond that these brothers have goes beyond life and death. It really made you appreciate just how beautiful and unpredictable your life is. However it was quite unsatisfying at the end.

Lottie - Nottingham Girls High School - 2019

Although I liked the clever way that the twist was well hidden, I did not enjoy reading this book. I think this is because it wasn’t the sort of style I’d normally read.

Beth - Nottingham Girls High School - 2019

This book was really clever as the twist is everything in it and makes the book make sense. I think it took a while to get going but other than that it was great.

Anika - Nottingham Girls High School - 2019

I liked this book because of all the interesting characters and the unexpected start that led up to a shocking twist which blew me away. However, I think the plot could have moved quicker and there could have been more action.

Elyssa - Nottingham Girls High School - 2019

This book was amazing! The plot twist at the end was excellent. I would definitely recommend this book to anybody because it is so well written, and when you start reading it you cannot put it down.
