This is a brilliant book. I really enjoyed it, it pulled at the heartstrings and opened my eyes to the world and problems in society such as homelessness. It motivated me to want to do more for the world and help people in need. Overall a brilliant book and really inspiring to read.

I didn’t really enjoy this book but it was definitely heartfelt and different. This book is ideal for animal lovers.

Lexi - Nottingham Girls High School - 2023

It was good, but went on too long. The ending was sad.

Millie - Nottingham Girls High School - 2023

I really enjoyed this book, it made me feel like I was there with Pup. It was a long emotional journey for him but the end was just spectacular. This has been my favourite book so far.

Jiya - Nottingham Girls High School - 2023

I think this was a great moving book but I think it could of been shorter as it was a little drawn out in places.

Holly - Magnus Church of England Academy - 2023

This book is truly extraordinary! It has the power to move the reader to tears and make them smile. My favourite character is Pup because he shows great determination through the whole book even though times are tough and he always believes he can find his boy again. My favourite part of the book is when all the dogs end up on the beach, where the sky meets the water. I also like how the relationship between the boy and Pup grows even stronger through the book.

Lizzie - Nottingham Girls High School - 2023

This book was very emotional but a think it was very well written.

Aleena - Nottingham Girls High School - 2023

It was not my style of book.

Lucy - Nottingham Girls High School - 2023

For someone who doesn't particularly like dogs, this book was one of my favourite books I've ever read. I loved how it made you feel for Pup and the story line of the book. I loved reading this and would definitely recommend this book to someone.

Ruquaiyah - Nottingham Girls High School - 2023

This book was a heartwarming, emotional, insightful read. The characters and plot were engaging and really connected with how we as humans understand animals and how much we mean to them. Overall, I enjoyed reading this book more than I initially thought; it pleasantly surprised me.

Lizzie - Nottingham Girls High School - 2023

I don’t normally like this genre of book but I really enjoyed it!

Ayomide - Outwood Academy Kirkby - 2023

This was such an emotional book. I loved the alternative view of a dog's life.

Eva - Nottingham Girls High School - 2023

I loved this book so much. It was so deep and had a very good message of friendship and love. The only thing I didn’t like so much was the 2nd time of Pup meeting his boy. I found it quite random and confusing but apart from that, I loved the book. It was very sad and at the end it made me cry. I would rate this a 4.5. Great book, Eva

Qudsiah - Nottingham Girls High School - 2023

A Street Dog Named Pup was a very emotional and clever book. It’s amazing how the author wrote from the perspective of a dog and the story is a rollercoaster. I know it may not be everyone’s cup of tea but I enjoyed the book and would recommend if you’re looking for a moving story.

Isabella - Outwood Academy Kirkby - 2023

I recommend this book because I enjoyed the way the author personified the dogs and shared their emotions and struggles. The book does have a lot of sad moments but I love the detail that went into Pup's life and how he grew old and went on adventures. If you get sad and sensitive about animals and dogs this may not be the book for you but it helps us understand a lot about animals and how they see the world.

George - Rushcliffe Spencer Academy - 2023

I think it is a really good book. It is quite a heartbreaking story and gets you really deep in emotion but in a way that is a good thing. The story may also have some very happy uplifting moments that readers may have experienced before and it is just a great reading experience. All I could to say to improve was that the start of the book was instantly into the action and there wasn’t much on Pup's boy as straight away he was dumped and I would just like to see a bit more on the boy.

Alexander - Rushcliffe Spencer Academy - 2023

It is sad and heartbreaking to know what can happen to the intelligent creatures. I myself don't feel the connection with dogs like others do but I was moved by the way it was written, with different twists and turns throughout the book. The close relationship between the Railway Den gang, how they felt for and trusted each other and their will to survive was well portrayed. However I think that it could explain more what happens in dog's heaven after they pass on to recreate the relationship between the dogs; Pup, Frenchi, Saffy, Merle, Fifi, Rex, Clown, and join on a new adventure.
